Mia Monday!

Since my sister moved out in October, my mom has been turning her old room into a guest room, and the old guest room into an office. For Christmas, we all chipped in and got Mom 11×14 prints of all 5 of our dogs, past and present, and framed them so she’d have art for her walls. This was the picture I used of Mia, and it’s by far my favorite of her. I loved it so much that I’m getting a print of it framed for our house as well.

Here is the complete set of dog pictures, for those of you who are curious:

Mia Monday!

Mia is a snuggler. She’s not usually a fan of lying down by herself, and when there’s no humans to put herself on, she’ll get a toy. She’s also a blanket thief. I’ll be lying on the couch under a blanket, and in no more than 2 minutes, she’s curled up with me. Even if I’m not around, or if I get up to get something, she’ll take over the entire blanket. It’s hard to be mad at that face!

Mia Monday!

Mia adores Donald. When he gets home from work, she runs in circles at his feet as he walks through the house. She won’t let him kiss me hello until he’s acknowledged her presence. Then she’ll wait for him to sit down on the couch before she runs to bring him a toy. The great thing is that he loves her just as much as she loves him. They’re very cute together.

Mia Monday!

As a general rule, Mia is not the outdoorsy type. She goes out there to do her business, and then comes right back inside. If Donald and I are working out back, she’ll come out to take a quick peek at what we’re doing, and then trot back inside to the comfort of her couch. Lately, however, I’ve caught her sunning herself in the backyard. She lays down, closes her eyes, and points her face toward the sun. It’s so cute.

Mia Monday!

I’ve mentioned before that Mia sleeps all the time. Sometimes she just cuddles up with me, and other times she cuddles up with a toy.  She and her cousin, Skeeter (my sister’s dog), have a particular affinity for frogs it seems:

Mia Monday!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Mia Monday, and I thought it was about time to start again.

Mia spends 18 hours a day sleeping, it seems. She loves to crawl under any blanket available, and I usually leave one on the couch for her. She was under the covers and snuck out to watch me cook one afternoon. I guess I’m not an exciting cook, as she started falling asleep a few minutes later.

You bore me to sleep, Momma.

I guess next time I should let her sample the food. I bet that keeps her awake.
